World Hypertension Day

17 May 2021

This week, we celebrated World Hypertension Day—a global day to recognize the dangers of high blood pressure organized by our partner, the World Hypertension League

Hypertension is the single leading risk factor responsible for cardiovascular disease – but high blood pressure can be prevented and managed, saving millions of lives. With the University of Washington, Resolve to Save Lives developed an interactive world map and country calculator to help policy makers, advocates and health experts visualize how millions more lives can be saved when countries adopt evidence-based hypertension prevention and treatment policies. The new tool projects lives that could be saved by the year 2040 in countries when hypertension control and lower salt consumption goals are reached.

We thank you for your commitment to improving cardiovascular health around the world. If your organization is also participating in World Hypertension Day or May Measurement Month, we’d love to connect and hear more about your activities.
